Approached by Vision Australia, Life Ready Games was developed as a tool to impart essential life skills onto visually impaired children. Following the adventures of the Detective and his Dog, players would be quizzed and tested for listening skills, spatial orientation skills and their general knowledge about caring for themselves at home and elsewhere. I was tasked as the UI designer for this project, working closely with Vision Australia to ensure the game was accessible to players.

Designing for this project was an immense challenge, especially when considering the numerous visual accessibility considerations to make. From the palette to the size and placement of buttons, the app went through various iterations to be accesible to people of a wide range of vision impairment. In combination with technical features, the app is usable for the completely blind, but still appealing to those of partial blindness. It was a joy to have contributed to something that would make an impact!
